Turbulence Determination
The determination of the turbulence and
loads resulting from wind in complex terrain as well as within
a wind farm is indispensable for ensuring WEC’s are sourced to
meet existing conditions.
AL-PRO determines all IEC relevant and additional parameters
in order to evaluate a site with respect to the existing wind
loads and turbulences; e.g.:
• Ambient turbulence
• Wake turbulence
• Vertical incident flow
• Extreme wind situations
• Variations of the flow field within the rotor
disk area
In addition to standard methods implemented in common software solutions AL-PRO uses self-developed methods and programms. These are used in order to transmit measured turbulences to WEC sites and also for the evaluation of simulated flow fields according to the mentioned parameters.
